Casa de la Roca
This cosy cottage is perched high above the village in the Arrabal quarter of Montefrio, next door to the Casa de la Parra. Just under the Moorish castle, its porch and panoramic windows overlook the rooftops and the hills of olive groves.

The Casa de la Roca is composed of two separate units each with its own bathroom and entrance, so that two couples can live side by side in total privacy. It is also ideal for a couple with one or two kids, as long as they can share the same double bed.

You can walk down the staircase from the cottage to the plaza in 5 minutes (but allow for 10 minutes to get back up!). Of course, you can also drive to the Old Cemetery and park there, which means much less climbing. Here, you can see the great domed church of Montefrio, and far in the distance on the left, the summit of the Sierra de Parapanda.

There are big cushions on the double bed for lounging, and, of course, for the ritual siesta. The kitchen and bathroom (with shower box) are tucked away in the alcove at the back. On winter evenings you can light a fire in the wood burner, and watch the flames flicker as you go to sleep...

As you sit at the organically built dining nook, you will feel as if you were in the restaurant car of a train, watching the landscape slip by as you sip your glass of Jerez... And near the door is a desk where you can tell your diary how delightful it is to live in the Casa de la Roca!

Like all of the Casas de Lorenzo, the kitchen is well equipped - with ceramic hob, microwave and fridge - and has its own view over the hills, to inspire you as you prepare your mid-day tapas!

The adjacent room, with its own door on the porch, has a double bed and its own bathroom. I took this picture, and the one below of the other end of the room with the shower and toilet in the inset, at dusk...
