1. To get to the Cortijo de los Siete Olivos, leave Montefrio on the road to Illora and make a left at the first junction, where you lose sight of the village. 2. To go to the Roman road, the mill and the swimming pond called "Los Molinos" take the dirt road which leads off to the right, just before you reach the bridge. To get to the pond, you must continue 1 km down the road, until you see a ruined millhouse and a deep ravine full of trees, among which is the pond. 3. To go to the medieval citadel of the Castellon, the Roman fort and the excavated prehistoric village, take the dirt road which leads off to the left just after crossing the bridge. 4. The Roman mill was in use until the end of the 19th century and is composed of 2 penstocks 8 meters deep where water channelled from the river by means of an aqueduct was accumulated, and released under pressure, turning 2 horizontal millstones. 5. To get to the Roman road, turn right at the last bend in the road before heading down to the bridge. It is best to do this part on foot. Walk 300 meters until you come to a farmhouse. Just beyond it the road forks in two, the left fork is what remains of a Roman road which connected the coast of Granada with Montefrio and Cordoba. 6. You cannot drive into the prehistoric burial ground. Leave your car by the roadside and walk past the barricade and the three boulders blocking the path (pedestrians are allowed to enter). Walk through the quarry, turn left and continue until you reach the end of the dirt road, where there is a roundabout. You are facing the meadow called El Rodeo, where there are the remains of many prehistoric tombs, called dolmens.
